Adastra Freestar makes exploration of the sky in real time easy with comprehensive reports, arcsecond accuracy, animation, and live tracking, giving you views of your night sky from any location on any date. You can control centering, zooming, directional, and panning functions. A single mouse click brings up a comprehensive report on any object visible in the sky. Adastra Freestar smoothly animates solar system objects against a stellar backdrop; creates printable finder charts; and searches for constellations, stars, and planets in point-source, spotlight, or the new photo-plate display styles. A point-and-click Solar Guide will take you on a tour of our Solar System interactively linking to both Sky and Picture windows. Astrogloss A-Z is a dictionary of over 1000 astronomical terms, integrated tightly with Adastra's Search and display. When you click on an object in the sky, Adastra will bring up that object's definition in the Dictionary. In addition, Coeli's TimeLine can graphically demonstrate the dramatic effects of precession down through the millennia, seeking out that remote First Time, when Vega and Deneb were Pole Stars. Version 4.00 offers new features such as a new help system, all new Sun, Moon, and Major Planet codes that introduce arcsecond precision into Adastra's data display, complete integration of Microsoft Agent speech technology, and Realtime 'Flash and Track' mode that allows you to lock onto and follow any object you specify. |
